About Kelly Sorensen

Kelly L. Sorensen, IBCLC, CLEC, is a certified lactation educator and counselor, and the lactation consultant at Coeur OBGYN in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Kelly is passionate about helping and supporting both new and experienced mothers during their baby’s earliest days and navigating them through any feeding difficulties.

Kelly learned how valuable a lactation consultant could be when she had her own children, and a consultant supported her through challenges of her own. As her children grew up, and Kelly was able to pass along her knowledge to friends who’d had difficulty breastfeeding, she realized her passion could become her career.

Kelly returned to school and became a certified lactation counselor and educator (CLEC) in 2014. In 2016, she graduated at the top of her class from the University of California, San Diego’s certified lactation consultant program and became an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. Kelly has spent hundreds of hours providing clinical breastfeeding support both in and out of hospitals, as well as providing her expertise to local breastfeeding support groups.

Kelly lives in Athol, Idaho, with her husband and two children, where she enjoys snowshoeing, spending time with her family and pets, and volunteering at her church.
